EXPERIENTIAL RETAIL PLATFORM
CURIO – Shop of Global Curiosities at Faena Bazaar was launched during Art Basel Miami 2019 as a Experiential Retail Platform. This four-floor, 20,000 square-foot shopping complex in Miami Beach integrates of-the-moment designers, must-see art installations, and food and drink to create a multi-sensory experience.
Inspired by CURIO’s bespoke products, rotating shops, pop-ups, dramatic displays, and highly photographic social media moments, I integrated the concepts of luxury, discovery, and wonder into branding, identity, and storefront signage.
The incorporation of a flirty, lashed eye and a font recognized as iconically fashionable beckons curiosity and evokes a sense of whimsy.
Continuing the eye motif, we chose to dress the facade of the historic building with a peacock – a decorative element from the lexicon of the Art Deco movement – to greet patrons and invite discovery and wonder.
